Senior Garment Technologist

This role is critical in ensuring the seamless execution of our garments from fitting to shipment, maintaining the high-quality standards associated with Rachel Gilbert. You will be responsible for leading fittings, processing comments, and ensuring that production garments meet the design vision and our company’s quality benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure the design vision is translated correctly and accurately into the production garments.

Measure SMS samples against the original specifications, ensuring all design requirements are met.

Updating Production tech packs where necessary to ensure all details are accurately communicated with factories

Lead fitting sessions with the fit model for all SMS samples, making necessary adjustments to meet the design vision.

Process fitting comments and feedback on SMS samples and request pre-production samples as needed.

Update Technical Drawings using adobe illustrator

Conduct fittings on pre-production samples with the fit model, to ensure the accuracy of adjustments.

Measure and inspect all size sets prior to shipment for final approval. Making comments on any adjustments needed for bulk shipping

Grade all approved samples, ensuring that sizing consistency and fit standards are met across all sizes.

Review and process production comments related to trims and hardware, grading these where necessary.

Accurately record sample status, approvals, and sample requests in the company tracker, ensuring up-to-date tracking of each stage. Follow critical path deadlines and prioritise tasks to ensure on-time deliveries of seasonal ranges.

Assist with fabric testing and requirements where needed, ensuring materials meet quality and performance standards.

Consult on finishings and fit with product development and technical teams where needed.

Uphold Rachel Gilbert's high-quality standards by ensuring all product approvals meet required quality and fit expectations.

Collaborate with the design and production teams to assess returns data, fitting the top 5 returned styles bi-weekly, identifying and addressing any fit or quality issues.

Suggest high-quality finishes and construction techniques to improve garment fit and durability.

Communicate effectively with wider design and production teams to ensure product standards are upheld and deadlines are met.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Garment Technician, ideally within high-end or luxury fashion brands.

Strong knowledge of garment construction, fitting and grading processes.

Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to maintaining quality standards.

Experience leading fitting sessions with models and working closely with design and production teams.

Familiarity with trims, hardware and fabric types.

Strong communication and organisation skills.
